I really didn’t want to do this for the new house but I needed to. The home office and flex room needed to be converted into bedrooms. Basically just added doorways to them.
Few things I learned this time around. If renting a a truck such as a U-Haul make sure you reserve the truck first then go to the closet Home Depot or Lowes from the rental location. The wife and I reserved the truck after I selected a Home Depot.
Do not do curb side pickup for lumber. They will give you the crummy twisted and warped stuff that every other contractor passed over on. They will do their best to not help you load it either. At least this was the case for me. Also a few items were stuck in “processing” and are either was not in store and are being delivered to the store on a later date for pickup. So take the time and go into the store your what you need in lumber.
Because of the hangups I had I can’t finish the walls until next week. I need two wall air return vents and the drywall screws. Those won’t be in until the 31st. Also I had to end up paying a hundred bucks for the truck because I put a total of 50 miles on it. If selected the Home Depot that was closer I would of put on half of the miles and would of been cheaper.
