I have been using Debian Linux for a very long time. From time to time I will try out a different distro but I had to make a switch to OpenSUSE.
Reason being a laptop I converted to a desktop (ROG Zephyrus G15) didn’t like Debian at all. Had a bunch of ACPI errors and I couldn’t do a simple reboot let alone shut down. The odd part was the system was moving like a slug. Come to find out the system was running at “quiet” mode.
There is software called AsusCtl that lets you change the system performance but the software only works in Fedora and OpenSUSE.
Well I have been running this system all day and I kinda like OpenSUSE. A bit of a learning curve for a few commands like instead of apt I have to use zypper to install a package from the shell. A lot of package names are labeled different but a quick google search helps.
I am honestly thinking to make this my daily driver. I would only use Debian for older/slow hardware.
