Even more 3D Printer madness

Since the Pad7 is on a slow ride on getting shipped I decided to press on and continue with the current setup. I can always transfer the config files over when the Pad7 shows up.

Ran into a unforeseen problem. The Y-Axis is in a terrible mess. The two front bearings hardly make contact and has put a lot of slop on the bed. Since the printer is moving twice the weight and when the Y-axis moves the whole bed lifts and turns right a bit.

I tried replacing the bearings and it’s the same. So this means I get to put in linear rails. I found the brackets for 15 bucks. Next payday I need to buy two 500mm linear rails.

Another huge issue I found is the printer takes 10 minutes for the bed to heat up. So now I need to upgrade to a silicone 110v heater. It’s not the time I am worried about. It’s the issue that a 24volt heater has to heat up the old bed plus the bigger bed that is bolted to it. I ordered one and and huge heatsink for the solid state relay. I have a couple of solid state relays somewhere. The setup is simple. The relay connects to the old mainboard output and just switches the main side on/off when needed. The thermistor is connected to the mainboard as usual. For safety I will add a earth ground to the build plate.
