A friend was shopping for a used Lenovo laptop and I was helping out. In the process I came across a bunch of Lenovo ThinkCentre M910t desktops. Before I knew it I scored one for 75 bucks.
I’m going to replace the SFF Lenovo M715q I have been using with the desktop. I’ll probably use the SFF as the Garage PC.
The M910t has an i5 but will be replaced with an i7 7700. I think it has 4 ram slots and I have enough DDR4 sticks to put 32GB of RAM in it. Pull out the 500GB spinner and toss in a NVMe and some SATA SSDs. I’ll probably would need to swap out the power supply so I can use my GPU from the old Server Desktop. The Lenovo M910t doesn’t use a standard 24pin ATX connection but uses a 10pin configuration. It seems the adapters doesn’t really turn off the power supply when the system shuts off. From the pictures it seems to have a jumper on the Green (PWR-ON) to ground. So I might need to modify the power switch to the system as well.
