Since we have moved in we have had electrical issues with the house. Randomly breakers trip. The electricians have been out three times and all they have done is swap out breakers. Most of the breakers are AFCI and from what my son that is a electrician told me they are sensitive and just dropping one renders it useless.
I have been going back and forth with the home builder’s warranty department and I have started looking into the issue myself and also adding smart switches to a few locations such as the dining room. When I was putting in smart switches I noticed some of the screw terminals on the old switches were loose. I also checked the outlets and sure enough the first one in the chain had a loose hot.
The electrician will be here on the 5th. When I received the call I told them don’t expect this to be a 5 minute service call. Expect to be here all day to do a deep dive. I will be here also and as much as I hate it I am going to be looking over their shoulder the whole time.
