Moved into the new house in April and it’s been too hot to work outside. Since Milton came and went it had gotten cooler outside.
I started on installing the water softener for the house and since I got stuck waiting on a part I decided to clean up the mess and before I knew it I was building a workbench.
The workbench is totally different then the last one. It’s 3ft tall and 35inches deep. It will have a back board to hold a 32inch TV. Using a HDMI over UTP converter to the rack I will have an old Onkyo TX-NR555 AVR. Just a simple 2.1 speaker setup and I can have a little thinclient on the rack for the TV.
The bench will also have built in lighting and electrical. I want to hold a few bigger electronics test equipment such as my analog scopes, power supply, vice and so on. At the moment I don’t have a tabletop for the back board for the bench. Still deciding on what material I want to use for the top.
I also plan to build one of those plastic tub storage racks so I can get stuff out of cardboard boxes and also store Christmas decors, old baby stuff and what not. I want to be able to pull in a car for if I ever need to do repair work.
Also to help with the hot summer days I have two ceiling fans I plan to hang in the garage as well. This weekend I need to swing by Home Depot and buy some fan boxes, new work boxes and a electrical outlet.
I also need to clean up the rack. I ran cabling a month or two ago and it’s a total mess. I have a keystone patch panel I need to utilize.
