So I started working on the power supply. The Dell R410 like many Dell systems don’t use the standard ATX pinout. I was gonna repin the new power supply but ran into a slight issue. The ad for the power supply had the typical colored wires. You know Red for 5V, yellow for 12V and so on. Well the wires are all black. Granted I could do it the way it is but with only one ATX 24pin block and swapping wires around I will screw something up like thinking a wire is ground but it’s 12V. So I ordered a 24pin pigtail for a couple of bucks and I’ll either repin the pigtail or just rob the block from it.
After getting PCI-E extender I need to change out the layout on the board. I forgot how short 200mm was. So this project is gonna take a little longer.
